Privacy policy

Plain English, because a privacy policy nobody can read protects nobody. This explains exactly what happens to your details when you ask us for an audit.

Last updated 27 August 2026 · Applies to leadsurge.co.za and to enquiries sent to us by phone, WhatsApp or email.

Who we are

LeadSurge is a one-person Google Ads consultancy run by Vogien Talmaggies in South Africa. For the purposes of the Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA), LeadSurge is the responsible party for the information described below, and Vogien Talmaggies is the person accountable for it. You can reach him at vogien@leadsurge.co.za or 071 034 6014.

What we collect

What you type into a form. Our audit forms ask for your name, your business name, your phone number, your email address, and the monthly ad budget range you are working with. That is all of it — there are no hidden fields collecting anything else, and we never ask for banking or identity-document details.

What your browser tells us. Like almost every website, ours records ordinary technical information: your IP address, browser and device type, which pages you looked at, and where you arrived from. This comes through Google Analytics and Google Tag Manager, and it is used in aggregate — we are looking at which pages work, not at you individually.

What you send us directly. If you call, WhatsApp or email us, we keep that correspondence so we can pick the conversation back up where it stopped.

Why we collect it

  • To reply to your audit request and actually prepare the audit.
  • To contact you about that request, and about our services if you have asked us to.
  • To understand which parts of this site are useful and which are not.
  • To keep records of work quoted and delivered.

Submitting a form is how you consent to us using your details for the first two. Analytics runs on our legitimate interest in knowing whether the site works. We do not use your details for anything you would not expect from the sentence you read before you clicked submit.

What we do not do

We do not sell your information. We do not rent, trade or share it with other advertisers, agencies, lead brokers or list buyers. We do not add you to a newsletter you did not ask for. We do not send bulk marketing email at all.

Who else touches it

We are a small operation and we use ordinary third-party services to run it. Each of these processes some of your information on our behalf:

  • Netlify — hosts this website and captures form submissions.
  • Our email provider — delivers and stores the notification and any correspondence that follows.
  • Google (Analytics, Tag Manager, and Google Ads where we advertise) — site analytics and conversion measurement.

Some of these providers store data on servers outside South Africa, mostly in the United States and Europe. POPIA permits this where the receiving party is bound by comparable protection; these are established providers operating under their own published data-protection terms. If that matters to you, ask before you submit the form and we will tell you what we know.

How long we keep it

We keep enquiry details for 24 months from our last contact with you, then delete them. Two years is long enough that a lead who goes quiet in March and comes back the following year is not a stranger, and short enough that we are not sitting on a pile of stale personal information. Records we are required to keep for tax or accounting reasons are kept for the period the law requires. You can ask us to delete your details sooner, at any time, and we will.

Cookies

This site sets analytics cookies through Google Analytics and Google Tag Manager. There are no advertising or cross-site tracking cookies set by us, and nothing on this site sells or shares your browsing behaviour with third parties for their own advertising. You can block or clear cookies in your browser settings at any time; the site works fine without them. Google also publishes a browser add-on that opts you out of Google Analytics entirely.

Your rights

Under POPIA you can ask us to:

  • tell you what information we hold about you;
  • correct anything that is wrong;
  • delete it;
  • stop using it for a particular purpose, including any further contact from us.

Email vogien@leadsurge.co.za and say which of those you want. There is no form and no charge, and you do not need to give a reason for asking us to delete your details. We will action it and confirm in writing, normally within a few business days.

If you are not satisfied with how we have handled a request, you can complain to the Information Regulator of South Africa, the body that enforces POPIA. Their current contact details are published on their website.

Security

This site is served over HTTPS, so what you type into a form is encrypted in transit. Form submissions land in our host’s dashboard and in an email inbox protected by a strong unique password and multi-factor authentication. No small business can promise perfect security, and we are not going to pretend otherwise — but the amount of information we hold is deliberately small, which is the most effective protection there is.

Changes

If we change how any of this works, we will update this page and change the date at the top. If a change is significant and we hold your details, we will tell you directly rather than quietly editing the page.

Questions

Anything here you want explained, or want your details removed — email vogien@leadsurge.co.za or call 071 034 6014. You will be talking to the person who runs the business, not a support queue.
