Google Ads Agency
in Cape Town

Cape Town is the one metro where a radius on a map is not just lazy but actively wrong. The mountain, the peninsula and the N2 mean two suburbs eight kilometres apart can be fifty minutes and two entirely different job values apart. We build Cape Town accounts around drive time and season, not distance. From R4,500 a month. No lock-in.

Four client accounts published with their account screenshots. The returns above are ratios, so they read the same in rand as they do in dollars. All four are American accounts. None of them is a Cape Town account, and we are not going to pretend otherwise. Judge the method, then read the numbers and the reconciliation notes on the results page.

Eight kilometres in Cape Town
can be fifty minutes.

Every other metro in this country can be roughly approximated with a circle on a map. Cape Town cannot, and that single fact sits behind most of the waste we find in accounts here.

The mountain is a targeting problem

A radius does not know about Table Mountain

Drop a 20km radius on the Cape Town CBD and you have just bought Camps Bay, Claremont, Mitchells Plain, Milnerton and a large slice of the Cape Flats at one bid. Newlands and Camps Bay are eight kilometres apart with a mountain between them — the drive is over half an hour and the job values are nothing alike. We build Cape Town accounts on drive-time clusters — Atlantic Seaboard, City Bowl, Southern Suburbs, Northern Suburbs, False Bay — each carrying its own bids.

Presence vs interest

Half the country is googling Cape Town

Google’s default location setting also serves people merely interested in your area. Nowhere in South Africa does that default cost more than it does here, because semigration means a permanent stream of people in Gauteng researching Cape Town plumbers, builders, movers and schools. They are not booking you this week. For any trade that has to physically arrive, presence-only is one dropdown, and in Cape Town accounts it is usually the single largest saving on the list.

Three economies, one city

Camps Bay money, Kraaifontein volume

The Atlantic Seaboard and City Bowl carry high job values, holiday-let churn and the most competitive clicks in the province. The Southern Suburbs run on old housing stock and steady maintenance demand. The Northern Suburbs are higher volume, more price-sensitive, and quietly the strongest Afrikaans keyword market outside Pretoria. One bid across all three means overpaying in at least two of them.

The season is upside down

Cape Town’s roof season is winter

Highveld accounts get their leak and storm demand from summer thunderstorms. Cape Town gets it from winter rain, May through August, while summer brings holiday-let turnover and outdoor work instead. A flat monthly budget copied off a national template is wrong here in both directions — too little in the weeks the ceiling is actually dripping, too much in the quiet shoulder months.

Suburbs we build Cape Town campaigns around: Sea Point, Green Point, Camps Bay, Hout Bay, City Bowl, Woodstock, Observatory, Claremont, Newlands, Rondebosch, Constantia, Tokai, Bergvliet, Muizenberg, Fish Hoek, Milnerton, Table View, Bellville, Durbanville, Brackenfell, Kuils River, Athlone, Mitchells Plain and the wider City of Cape Town.

The Cape Town trades
we build campaigns for.

Cape Town’s demand profile is genuinely different to Gauteng’s. Water, weather and holiday lets all change what a good campaign looks like.

Plumbers

Cape Town has a search category that barely exists up north — boreholes, tanks, pumps, greywater and water-wise installations, all inherited from day zero. That sits alongside ordinary geyser and drain emergency work and deserves its own campaign, not a shared one.

Roofing Companies

Winter rain, not summer storms. Leak, damp and waterproofing demand concentrates from May to August, and the accounts that win here front-load the budget into those months instead of spreading it flat across twelve.

Electricians

Compliance certificates on a property market that turns over constantly, plus solar and inverter work which inside the City of Cape Town supply area carries its own registration process that most advertisers never mention in an ad.

Cleaning Companies

Short-term lets are the strongest commercial cleaning lane in the country and they behave nothing like domestic work — same-day turnarounds, agency buyers rather than householders, and demand that climbs steeply over December.

Construction & Renovations

Heritage overlays and plan approval in the City Bowl and Southern Suburbs stretch the enquiry cycle longer here than anywhere else in the country. Optimising to form fills alone in that market buys you tyre-kickers at scale.

HVAC & Aircon

A smaller aircon market than Gauteng’s and a shorter season, which makes the retail-search problem worse rather than better: most “aircon Cape Town” volume is somebody pricing a unit, not booking an installer.

Cape Town searches that look like
work and are not.

Cape Town has the noisiest keyword environment in South Africa, because tourism and property sit on top of every single trade term.

Tourism and accommodation

“cleaning cape town”, “pool service”

Cape Town is the most searched destination in the country, so holiday, hotel, Airbnb and guest-house intent attaches itself to service keywords all year and swells over December. If you clean homes rather than service guest houses, accommodation, airbnb, hotel, guest house and self catering belong in the negative list on day one.

Semigration researchers

“moving to cape town” and everything near it

An unusually large share of Cape Town service searches come from people who do not live here yet. They are pricing a life, not booking a job, and with an interest-based location setting you pay full price for every one of them.

Job seekers

“plumber jobs cape town”, “vacancy”

Employment volume collides with almost every trade keyword. Without jobs, vacancy, salary, learnership and apprenticeship sitting in the negatives, you are running a recruitment campaign at your own expense.

Price and product shoppers

“jojo tank price”, “heat pump”

Cape Town’s water and solar categories are thick with product searches — tanks, pumps, panels, inverters, heat pumps. High volume, retail intent, and entirely capable of absorbing an installer’s whole monthly budget if the keywords are left broad.

What Cape Town businesses ask us.

Are you actually in Cape Town?

No — we are remote-first and work with businesses across South Africa. What decides your account is not which suburb the agency sits in. It is whether whoever builds it knows that a Camps Bay lead and a Brackenfell lead are not the same lead, and that the drive from Newlands to Hout Bay is not what the map suggests. We do.

Are Cape Town clicks cheaper than Johannesburg’s?

In most trades, yes — often noticeably. The exception is the Atlantic Seaboard and the City Bowl, where the competition is national and the clicks run as expensive as anything in Sandton. That gap between suburbs is precisely why we do not run one bid across the metro.

Should I keep advertising through the Cape winter?

If you are a roofer, waterproofer or plumber, winter is your season rather than your quiet period, and cutting the budget in June is the most expensive mistake available in this market. For outdoor trades the answer is different, and we would rather read your own search-term data month by month than guess at it.

Can you target only the Southern Suburbs?

Yes, and for most Cape Town service businesses starting in one cluster — whichever one you can genuinely reach inside twenty minutes — beats spreading a modest budget thin across the whole peninsula. It also makes the first month of data readable instead of noisy.

Will you work with another business like mine in Cape Town?

No. Bidding two clients against each other in the same auction raises both their costs and only one of them can win the click. Worth asking any agency that question before you sign anything.

Am I locked in?

No. Month to month, cancel any time, and the Google Ads account stays yours with all its history and conversion data still in it.
